Afghanistan’s Citizens’ Charter – On the right track but challenges remain

28 May 2020, Kabul — A new research on Afghanistan’s Citizens’ Charter finds that, since its inception in 2016, the program has had positive impact on the lives of people in the rural areas. However, the report also highlights challenges faced in terms of the need for improved coordination, security and accountability that must be addressed if impact is to be achieved in subsequent phases. With the first phase nearing completion, the research calls on Government and the international community to engage all involved actors in the next phases through a guided dialogue process. This, the report finds, is critical in order for key objectives of the program – reducing poverty, social mobilization and improved infrastructure – to be realized. For read all please click here
